1) Place the V-shaped block on the platform to support the camshaft journal. The l journal (on the camshaft sprocket side) cannot be supported if the diameter of the No. 1 journal is different from that of the other locations.
2) Make the dial indicator of the dial indicator perpendicular to the journal of the No. 3 camshaft.
3) Turn the camshaft by hand in one direction and measure the camshaft's runout on the dial indicator.
4) If the limit is exceeded, the camshaft needs to be replaced.
